Vancouver Sewer Manhole Rehabilitation Project
In the heart of Vancouver, Washington, a significant infrastructure enhancement took place as part of the City of Vancouver’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving its residential areas. The initiative focused on renovating nine precast concrete manholes in the city’s sanitary sewer collection system, aimed at preserving the efficiency and durability of critical wastewater infrastructure.
To tackle this endeavor, Epoxytec’s Series 451 CPP Sprayliner MH was selected as the liner for the job. One hundred gallons of this high-performance lining system was applied at a thickness of over 125 mils, offering a robust solution to combat deterioration and leakage.
The application process began with an essential surface preparation phase, utilizing a water blast at 5000 psi to ensure a clean, sound substrate for optimal adhesion and performance.
Notably, the application was executed during nighttime hours under humid conditions — a daunting challenge for less suitable products. However, Epoxytec’s CPP Sprayliner MH was designed specifically to excel under such circumstances, and this project proved its resilience once again. This adaptability not only showcased the product’s versatility but also highlighted the skill and professionalism of the Epoxytec Certified applicator, Underground Tech.
The project came to fruition thanks to a collaborative effort that included the support of Tnemec/Epoxytec’s sales representative, Dan Janulek of TNW Solutions, who presented the opportunity to the contractor. Initially, another product was specified for the project. However, Epoxytec’s proven track record ultimately secured the contract.
The project’s successful completion highlights the effectiveness of the chosen materials and the skilled collaboration among all participating teams.
