Epoxytec’s History

Epoxytec International Inc. was originally established by Joe Caputi with core products developed in 1990. The company’s history demonstrates its experience, resilience, and drive for excellence in the protective coating industry.

As an Italian immigrant living in New York, Joe Caputi began his career as an independent field technician for Belzona in 1973. Joe mastered the art of selling and, more importantly, became intrinsically involved in all aspects of coatings for the various industries that utilize and benefit from them.

He continued to work with Belzona throughout the 1980s, when he moved to South Florida and became an independent Belzona distributor, introducing cold polymer repairs and coatings throughout Florida, as well as to some Central and South American regions.

In 1989, Joe parted ways with Belzona and, soon after, founded Epoxytec. Joe’s knowledge of protective coatings and business acumen was a recipe for success. As various industries expanded, so did his product line.

Michael Caputi joined the business in 2001. His keen entrepreneurial spirit, so much like that of his father, drove Michael to grow Epoxytec.

Today, Epoxytec International Inc. (including MCOR, a brand of Epoxytec) offers services worldwide from its headquarters in Florida—all Epoxytec’s products are manufactured in the USA. Epoxytec continues to grow and excel with its team of chemists and network of partners. With over four decades of experience, this father and son duo is proud of Epoxytec’s journey and its future.
