Epoxytec Certified Applicator Network (ECAN)
Epoxytec’s Certified Applicator Network (ECAN)
ECAN certification is designed to promote an elite network of world-class applicators who understand the importance of high-quality products and services. Members of ECAN have training and experience in coating and lining applications for rehabilitation in industrial environments on both steel and concrete, as well as immersed and non-immersed infrastructure. Epoxytec is proud to collaborate with applicators who embody a culture of excellence, upholding industry standards and quality in their work.
LEARN ABOUT EPOXYTEC’S ECAN PROGRAM
Who is ECAN designed for?
ECAN is designed for water and wastewater applicators looking to enhance their business through quality products and high standards of excellence.
By partnering with Epoxytec, contractors are joining a pre-qualified group of applicators who are critical to rehabilitating and protecting water and wastewater assets.
Designed for engineers who drive specifications requiring high-quality applicators, from which the ECAN program helps ensure standards of quality and acceptance at bid time, using industry standards for application and quality products designed specifically for the water and wastewater environment.
What are the benefits of joining ECAN?
- Bid priority options for specifications calling for ECAN-certified contractors.
- In-depth product knowledge about structural liners and their product attributes.
- Hands-on training from industry experts on application procedures, including knowing when and where to use structural epoxies.
- Collaboration with Epoxytec.
- Acceptance into a prequalified certified applicator network.
What products are included in ECAN certification?
ECAN certification is designed to include extensive education on Epoxytec’s structural liners. Certification options include:
- CPP Trowel-Liner Certification
- Dual Certification including CPP Trowel-Liner & CPP Sprayliner
The cure characteristics of both CPP Trowel-Liner and CPP Sprayliner are equivalent in that both offer the qualities necessary to combat aggressive wastewater environments while sealing against inflow and infiltration (I&I). However, the application methods are the distinguishing factor: CPP Sprayliner allows for a spray application using a heated plural component spray system rather than a trowel-application method.
ECAN applicators will have the option to learn about one or both products depending on the path they choose.
Is ECAN certification granted to companies or individuals?
Certification is granted on an individual basis and does not extend to the company as a whole. Certificates are issued specifically to individuals who successfully complete the necessary training and testing.
How does an applicator become ECAN certified?
Training is required to join Epoxytec’s exclusive network. The training process varies depending on the certification path the individual selects. There are two available options:
CPP Trowel-Liner Certification
- Watch a short CPP Trowel-Liner training video
- Submit a test associated with the training video
Dual Certification (including CPP Trowel-Liner & CPP Sprayliner Certification)
- Register and attend an Epoxytec one-day, hands-on training and live demo in North Kansas City, MO. Training typically occurs once quarterly.
How long is ECAN certification valid for?
ECAN certification is valid for two years. Renewal is contingent upon recertification.
How is ECAN certification renewed?
A short recertification process will renew an applicator’s certification. Recertification consists of a video training and a passed assessment submission.
What kind of equipment is necessary/required?
CPP Trowel-Liner
Other than basic power mixing tools and hand application tools, no specialized equipment is required to become CPP Trowel-Liner certified.
CPP Sprayliner
Heated plural-component equipment is required to utilize CPP Sprayliner. Epoxytec professionals will guide contractors in understanding the available options, including purchasing or renting equipment and the possibility of retrofitting currently owned equipment.
Does ECAN have any network limitations?
Epoxytec’s certifications are not exclusive-licensing agreements; no contracts are required.
Epoxytec’s goal is to add a solution option to contractors’ portfolios. Epoxytec understands that some projects may fall outside the scope of Epoxytec’s solutions or system recommendations. Therefore, exclusivity is not required.
Additionally, contractors are not constrained by geographic boundaries.
Are there any requirements that must be followed once certified?
It is the responsibility of the certified contractor to ensure that industry standards are followed during the application of Epoxytec products.
Trained foremen/supervisors are expected to be actively present and available on Epoxytec-related job sites. If the applicator finds themselves in a situation where no previously trained employees are available for a project, it is the applicator’s responsibility to have crew members retrained and certified by Epoxytec.
PATH ONE: CPP TROWEL-LINER CERTIFICATION
To become CPP Trowel-Liner certified, applicators must complete the following steps:
- Completion of CPP Trowel-Liner registration
- Viewing of a CPP Trowel-Liner training video
- Submission of a test associated with the training video
PATH TWO: DUAL CERTIFICATION INCLUDING CPP TROWEL-LINER AND CPP SPRAYLINER
To become dual certified in CPP Trowel-Liner and CPP Sprayliner, applicators must:
- Register for training in North Kansas City, MO
- Attend an Epoxytec one-day hands-on training and live demo. Training typically occurs once quarterly
